i mostly listen to music while i'm doing other things. because of this, i'm a huge fan of background noise, chill songs that i can ignore, songs in languages i'm not familiar with, extremely low-res music, and walls of noise that i can cancel out pretty easily. i love nothing more than to leave a song on repeat for irresponsible amounts of time. when i'm listening to music just for the sake of it, i generally default to more upbeat songs and rap with clever rhyme schemes. verbal double dutch drives me crazy.
where vocals are concerned, i generally prefer female vocalists.
according to last.fm, i mainly listened to electronic, experimental, synthpop, instrumental, and 8-bit music in 2023.
i mostly listen at 10pm, and i'm horrified to learn that i listened to magnus palsson's pushing onwards 241 times in one day sometime last may. because i was reading a supernatural fic at the time (i've only ever watched half of the first season), i will now forever associate this song with one of the top fics under the "whump" tag. if this doesn't give you a good idea about the sort of person i am, i don't know what will.
