I draw. A lot. I've made a point to draw every day -- for practice, and for my own wellbeing. Because of this, I've amassed a large collection of digital art.

Most of my projects are works in progress that I've abandoned for one reason or another. I thought it might be interesting to make a page that spotlights my unfinished art. Since I don't really want to program more than one gallery, I've included a "Not a WIP" tab for pieces that don't technically fit here.

Why no finished fandom pieces? Most of those are posted on my various fandom Tumblrs across the net. I would prefer not to connect LizOnline to my fandom accounts for privacy reasons, but if you're really curious you can shoot me an email.

3/9/24 - *Stumbles in, covered in blood, sweat, and tears* . . . I'm done. I finished.

3/2/24 - Left off at September for the OCs. I also need to go back and fill in the Yu-Gi-Oh section . . . I just got down to my super character-heavy pages and I had to like. Sit down. I can't keep doing this right now I am out of juice!

Why is it still a WIP? In all honesty, it's only a WIP because I forgot about it. I'm a scatterbrain!
Would you finish this piece? Maybe? I'm not the biggest fan of how I started the lines, but she's adorable so it's a toss-up. I think it would take be about two hours to finish this if I was straightforward with the process (wistful thinking).
Notes I'm pretty sure I traced the scalemate she's holding.

Notes The vision was sooo good . . . I love how striking she is until I look closely. Very uncanny valley, but not in the way I was going for. Thanks, Rose, better luck next time. I'll do you justice . . . someday . . .

Why is it still a WIP? If I remember correctly, I found something else to draw. I have a horrifying number of September WIPs.
Would you finish this piece? Only if I have nothing better to do. Posing looks a bit stiff to current me.
Notes That pen . . . watercolor pen, you had your time, but I hate you with a burning passion now. I hate how it makes their hair look . . . these lines are so lazy!!! If you're reading the tabs in order, this is probably the first time you've seen one of my notes TToTT. Thanks, Liz from the past, I will not be fixing this.

Why is it still a WIP? Her hand was killing me!! I don't know how machines fit together, I don't know why I decided to make that the focus of the piece.
Would you finish this piece? Probably not -- I actually love it the way it is right now.
Notes This Vriska was for an AU I was writing that I will probably never finish. I got like . . . 24k words in before realizing that it was all OOC and my whole world came crashing down around my ears. I know, I know -- it's fanfiction and the point is to be self indulgent, but also, it's not. Not if it's me. This Vriska is still cool as fuck, though.

I remember enthusiastically consulting my amateur marine biologist sister on this one. We talked about it for hours . . . My entire thought process with this one is somewhere, though I can't for the life of me remember where.

Please take note of the Purity Ring and Crystal Castles lyrics in cursive alongside my notes. I didn't even notice while I was transferring this. Liz from August is so me.

Why is it still a WIP? I noticed Deidara's foot was backwards but by then it was already too late.
Would you finish this piece? No, but it would be fun to render more of Deidara's skin ^_^
Notes I think that I started this to practice scars and bruises? I wanted to draw Deidara bent out of shape so I hopped onto whatever drawing trend was on at the time and made it ~SasoDei~. I'm not the biggest fan of my Deidara designs from this summer as of February 2024, but this one isn't too bad. He looks like a smug cat.

Notes I actually remember how frustrated this piece had me. His lack of eyebrows and stupid tattoo . . . I understand why so much of the western fandom draws a heart in place of his tattoo -- unless you start out with a small brush or a large canvas, it is physically painful to draw the kanji. I suffered so bad.

Why is it still a WIP? I got distracted
Would you finish this piece? No. She's floating in the middle of nowhere. What am I supposed to do with that. Why do I never plan these things out.
Notes I remember making a whole new brush for this piece just so I could get all the piping evenly sized. It ended up leaving particles all over the white space that I later erased by hand. There's got to be a better way to do things.

Why is it still a WIP? The shaded one isn't. I rendered that one on a separate canvas. The rest of them were style experiments that I never really meant to finish.

Notes Something something Atem in Yugi's body with no height transformation or anything squinting and glaring to make his features less round. Mostly OOC for our stoic king, but it felt cute at the time.

Notes This is actually my friend's OC from our roleplay. I borrowed her art style and ended up having a really fun time practicing painting while I was at it. This is probably the first piece I ever painted digitally? It makes me so happy to look at. Love you, Betel.

Why is it still a WIP? Because I can't draw feet or figure out how to shade this one. I have like . . . 6 color drafts? And I hate them all.
Would you finish this piece? I try sometimes. It frustrates me to NO END.
Notes This is Aurilla. Half of her brain belongs to an eldritch being in the shape of an abyss that she insists on calling her mother. She's apprenticed under a doctor. I freehanded this shit without references and to this day that remains my proudest achievement.

Notes His design is super fun!! I remember seeing some background character in a manga or doujin and being *inspired*. Thus, peacock (a detail which I added after coloring his hair and thinking, "huh. He looks like a peacock"). I think 99% of my thought process here was drawing a roughed up man.

Notes OOoh, this one's fun. If I drew the rest of her body I would have to contend with making her arms too short, but as-is it looks more or less okay. Really cute color scheme, reminds me of the piece I didn't sketch for that I ended up giving 3 arms. Memories . . .

Notes Exactly a month before the other finished piece?? This is insane to me. This is one of my favorite pieces I've done. Such pretty colors, and a lot to look at without being busy. Wack anatomy in some cases, but it's fiiine . . . This is my background on my tablet. It brings me joy.
